Frequently Asked Questions
What are the idle rules in AI Notebook?
To help you save resources and avoid unexpected costs, AI Notebook automatically manages idle sessions. The following rules apply:
- Idle GPU kernel timeout: A GPU kernel is considered idle after 30 minutes of inactivity (no commands executed). When this happens, the kernel is automatically disconnected.
- Idle lab timeout: A lab environment is considered idle after 1 hour of no user interaction (no keystrokes, clicks, or tab switches). Once idle, the lab is automatically deleted to free up resources.
- Data safety: If your lab is deleted due to inactivity, all saved files remain safely preserved in persistent storage and can be accessed later. Be sure to save your files before closing the browser to avoid losing unsaved data.
How long do CPU and GPU flavors take to start?
- GPU flavor: Typically takes 45 seconds to 1 minute to start.
- CPU flavor: Typically takes around 15 seconds to start.
Actual startup times may vary depending on system load and network conditions.
